In under two months To Do Green created their climate action plan and delivered significant energy savings.
To Do Green, an electric vehicle delivery business in Brazil, joined The Climate Pledge's Net-Zero Roadmap Accelerator, delivered by Giki, to turn a fast-growing sustainability story into a structured, actionable plan that delivered real impact from day one.
Founded in 2021 to bring electric vehicle delivery services to Brazil, sustainability is in To Do Green’s DNA. Claudio Mano, one of the firm’s earliest employees, now heads the firm’s climate action strategy. He decided to join the Accelerator to bring structure and order to ideas that were already circulating across the business. In under two months, he is already seeing significant business benefits across energy usage and procurement.
"In one of our hubs we have saved around 20% of the cost of energy already as a result."
Claudio says it started solely because of the action they discovered through the Accelerator and Giki Actions.
- Sector: Electric vehicle delivery / logistics
- HQ: São Paulo, Brazil
- Founded: 2021 (from a single shipping container)
- Fleet: 500+ electric vehicles; 100% electric
- Reach: 196 cities served
The challenge - why now
To Do Green's interest in the Accelerator was driven by business opportunity and giving structure to a fast-growing, young business. To Do Green is experiencing increased interest and demand from major global firms, because of the opportunities they provide customers to deliver on their sustainability goals. So joining the Accelerator was about turning belief and sustainability commitments into a structured, deliverable plan, with clear business benefits.
The commercial case is building quickly, as Claudio explains:
"I’ve had bids this year from global companies, from food and beverage, to logistics groups, all specifying EV-only delivery. We’ve never seen that before. The movement is really changing."
Transportation from EVs is typically over 75% lower emissions than fossil fuel equivalent vehicles.
Claudio also points to the wider opportunity in Brazil.
"I see a lot of pressure in the market here, so as a business, it makes sense to position ourselves as a green delivery solution." The recent UN COP30 climate conference hosted in 2025 in Belem, on the edge of Brazil’s Amazon rainforest reinforced that: "It was marvellous for us as a business. We had contact with major players like DHL, Maersk, Amazon interested in sustainable solutions, and I met a lot of new suppliers too."
The Climate Pledge Accelerator
Through The Climate Pledge SME Cohort Program, To Do Green joined the Net-Zero Roadmap Accelerator, alongside SMEs across the globe from a range of sectors. The Accelerator was designed as a guided journey that helps SMEs translate their 2040 net-zero commitment, made through the Pledge, into practical, actionable decarbonisation roadmaps. Through expert-led workshops, a digital platform and one to one sessions, participants develop plans to accelerate progress toward their net-zero targets and gain internal buy-in. The Accelerator was delivered by Giki, using our platform Giki Actions, designed for SMEs to build, implement and report on their plans.
Claudio first came across the programme through a workshop hosted by The Climate Pledge. Being part of The Climate Pledge has already opened many doors for them, including a partnership with Volkswagen on trucks, working with Brazil's national development bank and opportunities with Amazon. So, his expectations were high that the Accelerator would deliver for him.
In their words - the experience
For Claudio, the appeal is personal as much as commercial.
"I really believe personally that electric vehicles are the best way to operate. I don’t use cars, I ride a bicycle. I always try to minimise travel, to share transport with other people. It's a lifestyle for me."
Paula Simões, To Do Green's founder, shares that outlook and has consistently encouraged Claudio to participate in programmes like the Accelerator: "She really sees the benefit in us going to learn, and to bring back insights into the company."
That personal conviction feeds directly into how Claudio communicates internally. "As an ESG lead, I often need to sell the idea. It is hugely beneficial to have the external support and materials from platforms like The Climate Pledge and Giki, who have real credibility, which helps me make the case."
As the team grows and brings in new employees, this is critical. "We bring in key people from large global firms who often haven’t focused on sustainability before. Helping them see the business benefits is critical"
Claudio also sees this as part of a wider responsibility. "I believe every company has to have this kind of responsibility," he says, while noting that regulation will likely need to play a role too: "In Europe you have obligations about sustainability. That's coming to Brazil, but we don't have it yet."
Turning insight into action
The Accelerator gave Claudio a clearer way to organise ideas that he was already considering.
"When I saw all the recommended actions we could do in Giki Actions, it helped clarify so much. With clarity, it is really easy to start."
The first stage was discussing all the actions Claudio was considering with different parts of the business. This process was hugely valuable in identifying priorities and getting buy-in from different teams.
Immediately, the business benefits started to show:
One of the clearest results has been in the supply chain. "I shared all the documents and relevant actions in Giki Actions with our supply chain director, and he started to use them. The timing was perfect, because he was restructuring the whole supply chain," Claudio says. "I think it's one of the clearest actions that has already given concrete results."
There's also an early, tangible energy story. After reviewing equipment across the business, To Do Green's infrastructure team began replacing incandescent lighting with low energy lights, and adjusting air conditioning use at its hubs — the same hub saving Claudio described above, traced back to an action from The Climate Pledge’s Accelerator and Giki Actions. To Do Green is now running the same equipment review process across every hub.
Ripple effects
Claudio also sees his own role as one of spreading the message further. He regularly brings sustainability into events with To Do Green's wider workforce.
"We had around 1,000 workers, drivers and back-office people at one recent event to scale awareness. You can help make people more conscious of what they do at work and in their own lives."
With a fast growing workforce, employee engagement is really important for delivery of the plan. Actions from eco-driving training for drivers, and helping employees adopt sustainable lifestyles, supported by Giki’s tools, is also a priority for the business.
What's next
Claudio is planning an energy treasure hunt across his sites and conducting an employee survey, to see how many staff are already driving EVs, as well as continuing to embed the energy savings and procurement work that has already begun.
Armed with a well considered plan and buy-in from key people, To Do Green is already seeing the business benefits of joining The Climate Pledge Net-Zero Roadmap Accelerator, in driving internal cost savings, and having a clearly articulated roadmap to communicate to customers.
